Expanded machining · in development

CNC Machining Services

Expanded CNC machining capabilities are in development. Contact us to discuss project requirements and future availability. Planned approaches include 3-axis, indexed 3+2, and simultaneous 5-axis machining; expanded machining is not currently orderable.

Match the approach to the geometry

Three-axis machining addresses features with a fixed tool orientation during cutting. Indexed 3+2 positions the part or tool at an angle, then cuts with that orientation fixed. Simultaneous 5-axis coordinates changing orientation during the cut. The right approach depends on access, surfaces, tooling, and how the part can be held.

Potential applications to discuss

Candidate inquiries include multi-face prototypes, fixtures with angled features, brackets, housings, and contoured components. These are examples for planning conversations, not completed FabCo projects or an accepted production offer. A drawing and model are needed to assess any proposed part.

Critical requirements belong on the drawing

Identify datums, mating features, threads, surface requirements, and individual tolerances that matter to function. More axes do not guarantee a finished-part tolerance or remove inspection needs. Deep cavities, slender walls, undercuts, and hidden features may require redesign or another process.

What an inquiry can establish now

For a machining inquiry, include material, quantity, overall dimensions, a CAD model and drawing, intended use, and desired timing. We can discuss geometry and future suitability while expanded machining is in development. For current plate and profile work, explore CNC routing.

Common questions

Can I order expanded machining now?

Expanded machining is in development. Contact us to discuss project requirements and future availability; machining orders and payments are not currently accepted.

Does simultaneous 5-axis mean every feature can be reached?

No. Tool shape, holder clearance, fixture access, travel, and part geometry still constrain the process. Some features need additional setups or a different method.
